Hello everyone,
Regs Ball is upon us! We're looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday for what's shaping up to be a very fun event. This email is to run through the logistics of the evening, so buckle up and give it a good read - some information is very important.
Schedule
Doors will open at 19:00 for a drinks reception in Upper College Hall with jazz playing in the background. This will be followed by a three-course meal being served from 19:45, so please be in the venue by then.
A ceilidh will commence from 21:45 led by the highly-reputed Gary Sutherland Ceilidh Band, and a contactless-only bar will open for an opportunity to buy further drinks. When the ceilidh ends, we will play music until the end of the event at 23:45.
Seating plan - important
The seating plan for meal service has now been confirmed and sent off to the venue. As such, we can no longer make adjustments. Thank you to everyone who submitted a seating plan request - it did make things a lot easier.
Before and during the meal service, you must not move your place card or switch seats with someone else. This is to ensure that people with dietary requirements will get the meal they need. Regs is notorious for being the "allergy hall", and messing with the cards may have serious consequences even if you think you know what you're doing. Even if you have the same allergies, even if you're in the same group, do not switch.
Those found to be switching seats for any reason will face consequences, which may include removal from the venue without a refund.
Drinks
There will be plenty of opportunity for drinks within the venue. The drinks reception will provide two glasses of house wine on entry, with a further two glasses available at your table during meal service. The bar will be open following the meal service until 23:30 - please be aware it only takes contactless payment, not cash. Non-alcoholic options are provided throughout all stages of the evening.
What we're getting at is that there is no need to pre hard, as denying people entry or kicking people out is miserable for everyone involved. We're obviously not saying you can't pre - it's a ball, have some fun - but events are much more enjoyable when you're inside the venue and there for the entire night. Just be sensible!
We have professional security on hand to handle any incidents as per the venue requirements, and a sober rep (Nic) is also on hand if at any point you feel threatened or uncomfortable.
ID and tickets
Your FIXR ticket will be scanned on entry - there are no wristbands to collect. As we will be serving alcohol, we will require a form of government-recognised ID on the door. Please message us immediately if this will be an issue. We will stamp your hand on entry so you can get in and out of the building easily for fresh air.
Challenge 25 (the legal stuff)
Any guest who appears 25 years old or under will be asked to provide photographic ID prior to being served with alcohol. If no acceptable form of ID can be provided the guest will not be served. Legally acceptable forms of ID include a full or provisional drivers licence, passport, EU nationality cards, Young Scot card and any other card with a PASS hologram. Student ID cards are not acceptable forms of proof of age.
Refunds
We do have a waiting list for tickets that is lengthening by the day, so if you do not plan on attending the ball, please message us before the day of the event so that someone else has a chance of going. We cannot issue refunds during or after the event.
As always, sure you follow the ball Instagram account at @stregulushallball so you don't miss out on any updates. If there's any questions you have, please don't hesitate to message us.
See you soon!
